Known to Leaving Certificate students for her novel ‘How Many Miles to Babylon’, Irish novelist Jennifer Johnson turns 80 on Tuesday. Eileen Batterby, the Arts Literary Correspondent with the Irish Times celebrates the award-winning writer. She describes Johnson’s skill as she ‘harnesses the power of words to her own watching and listening skills in crafting intelligently truthful, deceptively conversational tales of different Irelands’.
